You will complete both the Level 2 and Level 3 City & Guilds Qualifications during this course, you will also complete a professional pet first aid course . This course delivers a higher standard of training than our competitors, as we include advanced handstripping and confirmational styling techniques, as well as coat care management regimes. Having a greater understanding of how skin and coat functions and behaves , will give you and whole other level of knowledge.
Skin issues can be frustrating and challenging, but we as dog groomers can help manage these. We teach the benefits of natural grooming products and how to use these to promote your business. We are able to teach more in depth due to the very high experience level and knowledge of the course tutor Amy Manser, who's expertise are recognised worldwide.
Amy is a world gold medal winning groomer, who has educated and spoken on varying platforms across the globe. The salon offers a purpose built training facility with a relaxed environment to learn and development all the skills you need to be not only a good dog groomer, but a thriving business owner. The course includes:
- Correct handling of dogs
- Health checking and recognising problems
- Professional Pet First Aid Qualification
- Information on running a Business
- Styling to breed standard or owners requirements
- Clipping, scissoring and hand stripping

Guided Learning Hours
City and Guilds require 300 GLH ( Guided Learning Hours) to be completed in order to be able to complete this course . You will carry out 30 days in salon training, PLUS a minimum of 150 hours of continued guided learning with home study and through E Learning modules. This time will be logged and tracked to meet the requirements of City and Guilds until the required guided learning hours (GLH) are achieved and to insure your knowledge meets the recommended standards.
Grooming Pack
All students can purchase a Professional Dog Grooming Pack for their own personal use during and after the course. The pack contains a wide variety of quality equipment which is all you will require during your course with us and to set up as a dog groomer afterwards. For an additional fee we also offer a pack upgrade which will include Cordless Clippers and Wahl steel comb attachments.
Level 2 & 3 City & Guilds Qualifications
The Level 2 & 3 City & Guilds Qualifications are included in this course **.
Full aftercare is provided to all students, to offer help and guidance as required. 2 FREE FOLLOW UP TRAINING DAYS ARE PROVIDED.

I attended Just 4 paws in 2020. I successfully completed my C&G level 2 and level 3 diploma in dog grooming, which I passed with a merit. I found that the tuition I received throughout the course to be very good. The facilities and equipment within the training salon were also very good and it was a clean comfortable environment to learn in. As well as the training I can honestly say I have been really impressed with the ongoing support Amy has given me.
There is a facebook group for students past and present and we are able to ask for advice within this group but on top of that I have privately asked Amy if she would mind critiqueing some grooms that I had carried out and she was more than happy to take the time to send me detailed critique back and ways to improve the grooms.
Since completing my course I have opened my own salon and after 15 months of trading I was fully booked and turning customers away. I have recently attended my first grooming competition and was placed 1st in the beginners class. Training to become a dog groomer is by far the best thing I ever did and would highly recommend Just 4 Paws as a learning centre.

When I arrived I immediately felt welcome.
Amy had organised a dog similar to my own for me to groom.
It was hands on straight away with Amy by my side demonstrating and helping me to understand the process.
I throughly enjoyed the day and decided that dog grooming was for me.
After a discussion with Amy it was agreed I would do the City & Guilds LV2 &3.
Amy provided a variety of different breeds for me to groom whilst on the course giving me the knowledge, experience and confidence to open my grooming salon which is doing well.
Amy’s knowledge, experience and patience is outstanding.
When I finished my course I was actually sad to leave.
